An article on Saturday about the possibility that a defense policy bill vote could backfire on House Republicans misspelled the given name of a member of Congress from Pennsylvania. She is Representative Chrissy Houlahan, not Chrissie.

An article on Sunday about a rising trend in disaster-proof homes misspelled the given name of a retired software engineer who recently bought property near Bishop, Calif. He is Jon duSaint, not John.

An article on Saturday about a sense of safety in Gilgo Beach after the arrest of a suspect misstated James Burke’s title. He was the police chief in Suffolk County, not the police commissioner.

An article on July 11 about new song releases misstated the name of PJ Harvey’s new album. It is “I Inside the Old Year Dying,” not “I Inside the Old World Dying.”

An article on July 11 about a letter from Abraham Lincoln that sold at auction, using information provided by the Raab Collection, misidentified one of the three generals Abraham Lincoln mentioned in an Aug. 19, 1861, letter to Charles Ellet Jr., an American civil engineer and Union Army colonel. He was Joseph Totten, not James Totten.

An article on Saturday about Broadway veterans and movie stars’ camp memories misidentified the production in which the actress Andréa Burns appeared. It was “Man of La Mancha,” not “Don Quixote.”

An article on July 11 about environmental concerns associated with open-pit coal mines misattributed the cause, at least in part, of a cutthroat trout dieoff in the Fording River. There is no proof in this case that selenium played a role, according to an evaluation of the incident by Teck Resources, the mining company. In addition, the article misstated the company’s applications for mining. It is seeking to expand one of its mines, not to open two new ones.
