How Do You Personalize Your Cubicle? We Want to See It.

Cubicles were once such a commoditized fixture in offices across the nation that they were used to represent the boredom of unfulfilled corporate workers in late ‘90s movies like “Being John Malkovich,” “The Matrix” and, most notably, “Office Space.” The confined spaces gradually fell out of favor as companies began to opt for fewer walls to encourage collaboration.

Now the lowly cubicle is making a comeback, as workers head back to the office and find they have lost the privacy and quiet they have working at home. Seeking quiet areas for focused work, workers are turning once again to cubicles and the isolation they offer.

The New York Times team that covers business is planning an upcoming story on the return of the cubicle as part of our Square Feet series on live/play/work spaces. We would like to speak to workers who have added décor to their cubicles to make them more comfortable and to help them stand out. How are you personalizing your space? How long did it take? Did you have to get permission from your manager? Has your design encouraged you to work from the office more often?

We want to feature photos of office cubicles. Send us your photos; we’ll pick the best and send a photographer to your workplace.

We will not publish any part of your submission without contacting you first. We may use your contact information to follow up with you.
